Life Passage

Going through my life

Years wash away… A small boat

heading to unknown

Deane’s thoughts

(l970’s) Thought at the time: hard to keep a sense of “shore” and solidity.

10/5/23 rereading it 50 years later:   guess it all depends on

How strong the boat, how choppy the water, how serene the oarsperson 😀

Johanna’s comment,  8/5/2024. I liked the original metaphor – life is indeed a small boat, who knows where it is going, and certainly the years are consumed by the tides that ebb and flow.  The more mature reflection is wonderful – funny, clever, and the questions one asks after a lot of years have come and gone!
